Goodwinds Soft Nock is a molded connector that can be used as a substitute for arrow nocks for entry level sport kites. They are heftier than most one piece nocks and will withstand all the wear and tear of a beginner’s ground pass attempts. To speed production, these connectors slip onto the leading edge and spine ends without any need for gluing. Fits pultruded carbon spars sized .230” through .254” as well as fiberglass A-20 spars. We are closing out these connectors so they’re priced to move.
Lightweight Aluminum Ferrules are designed in a lightweight aircraft aluminum alloy specifically as external ferrlues for wrapped and pultruded carbon rods. These ferrules have a very thin wall so they are feather light. Lightweight Ferrules are on closeout so get them while they last!
These pultruded carbon fiber tubes, also known as graphite tubes, are discontinued lengths. Selection is limited to what is available.
The primary advantage of using carbon fiber for framing material is its high stiffness to weight ratio. Ideal for ridged frame construction. Inner diameter, or wall thickness, can fluctuate .008" plus or minus from sizes indicated.
Cutting Carbon - To cut carbon fiber, use a Dremel motor with an abrasive cutting wheel for the cleanest cut possible. You can also use a fine tooth hacksaw. Be sure carbon is held securely in place, be careful not to crush. Tape around area to be cut to prevent splintering or separation of fibers. Wear eye protection and dust mask.
